After selling My Pulsar recently, I bought a early used Honda Activa. It was my wish to buy Activa because of its pleasant look and style (main reason- good space to carry luggage ) in gear less models but had a concern in mind about mileage..

Normally this type of vehicles gives you a 35-40 Km/ltr mileage though all the companies claims 60 to 65 km/ltr. i think they drive these scooters on Highway or on stand :-P.

I think no bike or scooter achieve such mileage which company claims in advertisement i think its just one of their selling strategy.

I asked few Garagewalas whom garage is always found full of bikes and scooters for servicing in my area. They told couple of points to take care for bike or scooter to achieve the good mileage.

here are couple of them,

1. use tubeless tyres

2. make your air/fuel mixture lean

3. change the engine oil , gear oil

4. change the air filter

5. change the spark plug if necessary

6. check free movement of brake liners

7. use recommended tyre air pressure (depends on tyres)

8. use only normal fuel ..do not use premium fuel it is not recommended

9. check your battery too.

Hope by having such things keep in mind, one can get good mileage.
